Kevin Simmons faces charges of criminal mischief and larceny following accusations that he recklessly drove a cart across walkways while under the influence of alcohol.
A recent incident at Buffalo Niagara International Airport involved a man taking control of a transportation cart and causing significant damage to the facility's infrastructure. Kevin J. Sinning, a 29-year-old from Wyoming, now faces multiple charges including second-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, criminal nuisance, third-degree grand larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property valued over $3,000.
The event took place around 1 am on July 28, with the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Police Department responding to the scene. Reports indicate that Sinning was visibly intoxicated during the incident. Social media videos captured Sinning navigating the cart through the airport's hallways. In one video, the cart can be seen damaging metal beams of a moving walkway. Another clip displays the cart on a different walkway, where it was too large for the path, resulting in crushed metal and shattered glass.
The reckless escapade quickly went viral, with one video on social media garnering over 9 million views and more than 450,000 likes. Following his arrest, Sinning has not made any public comments regarding the incident.
